- Me:Yeah, vegan's don't get any protein.
- Me:None.
- Me:Literally, the only source of protein is from animal products.
- Me:Once you cut those out, you're done.
- Me:Which, of course, does lead to health issues.
- Me:I should be dead or violently ill before the end of the year.
- Me:No vegan ever survives more than a year or so.
- Me:Because we literally eat no protein.
- Them:That's... not true.

Zadnje čase je kar nekaj poznanih ljudi pri 50+ letih postalo veganov, vključno s fantovo mamo. Nikoli ni prepozno.

1. Ameriško združenje za boj proti raku (Demark-Wahnefreid idr., 2015, str. 9) je objavilo nova priporočila, "da naj bi se ljudje, ki so preživeli raka, držali »preudarnih diet«, to so diete na rastlinski osnovi, ki vsebujejo veliko sadja, zelenjave in surovih žitaric, z malo rdečega in procesiranega mesa, rafiniranih žitaric in sladkorja. Ta prehranjevanja so nasprotje 'zahodnih diet', ki imajo ravno nasprotni vzorec, saj vsebujejo veliko mesa, sladkih jedi, druge procesirane hrane in prehranskih maščob".

Primer enega celodnevnega jedilnika za bolnika obolelega z rakom vsebujejo lahko praktično le spoznano tvegana živila živalskega in močno procesirana živila, na primer piščančja prsa, purana, ribo pečeno v alu foliji, 2dcl jogurt, 2dcl mleka, maslo, olje (3 krat v dnevu), krekerje (2 krat v dnevu), kozarec pomarančnega soka IN 1 'CELO' JABOLKO (?!) in nič stročnic, kar skupaj predstavlja kar 25% vseh kalorij iz vira maščob (verodostojna znanost za rakave bolnike priporoča 8-10%) in kar 104,6 g beljakovin (20%) za 70 kg človeka (PDV je 0,5 – 0,8 g na kg telesne teže oz 35 – 56 g oz 10% vseh kalorij).

Znanec je ravno objavil tole misel s pripetim stripom, pa se mi je zdelo vredno jo delit:

New Mega-Study Shows Plant-based Diets are Effective as Diabetes Treatment
People with diabetes looking for a more powerful treatment should consider a plant-based diet, according to a team of American and Japanese researchers.
Combining the results of six prior studies, the researchers found that a plant-based diet significantly improves blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes. Earlier studies had shown that plant-based diets could improve a key indicator of blood sugar control, called hemoglobin A1c, as much as 1.2 points, which is far greater than the effect of typical oral diabetes medicines. The new study is a meta-analysis, widely considered the highest level of scientific evidence. Focusing on longer-term effects and combining the results of all available studies, the benefit of leaving out meat, cheese, and eggs was as much as 0.7 points in some studies, and averaged about 0.4 points overall. Most of the studies did not require participants to reduce their calorie or carbohydrate intake.
“Plant-based diets work in a different way than ‘conventional’ diabetes diets,” said Neal Barnard, MD, of the George Washington University and one of the study authors. “We now know that type 2 diabetes is caused by insulin resistance. Getting the animal fat—and fats in general—out of the diet helps repair insulin’s ability to function.”
The American Diabetes Association’s Clinical Practice Recommendations have cited the value of vegan diets for type 2 diabetes for several years. The new study results will give more confidence to doctors who aim to reduce their patients’ need for medications. Currently, more than 100 million Americans have either diabetes or prediabetes.
The new study is published in Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy.

Vegani, potrebujem pomoč.
Namreč otrok ima dermatitis, ki je trenutno v fazi izbruha in moramo za en teden izločit iz prehrane kup stvari, da vidimo, če se bo koža izboljšala. Konzerv in sprocesirane hrane itak ne jemo, je pa treba izločit vse mlečne in jajčne izdelke, ribe, oreščke, semena in podobno. Probleme ima sicer tudi z uvoženim sadjem in zelenjavo, ampak bo pač jedel bolj zelje in radič in tako, kar je ok, ta teden. Kosila niso tak problem, bolj so zajtrki in večerje. Kaj mu dat za jest? Zajtrkovat praktično noče, ker mu na kruh ne dam masla pod marmelado, joka, ker ne sme mleka. Ostaneta mi ravno še riž in meso, tega pa tut ne more vsak dan jest.
Imate kakšne predloge zame za preproste jedilnike? Sojini pripravki in razna riževa mleka odpadejo ...

Sončnična margarina pod marmelado? Mogoče prosena kaša skuhana na vodi + suho sadje, ali žlica marmelade zraven?
Zakaj pa ne sme riževega mleka? To bi znalo biti privlačno, ker je sladko.
Drugače pa mogoče malo pobrskaj na strani od Boobee Foodee: http://www.boobeefoodee.si/ , ona pripravlja zelo "zdrave" obroke za otroke. Mogoče najdeš kaj všečnega. In pa na http://mamijedoma.bl.../label/Vegansko, ona je tudi veganka, in za sina pripravlja mislim, da samo vegansko hrano.

?? vse kar si zgoraj naštela je v kartonu (riž, mleko, praktično vsi mlečni izdelki, oreščki) ali pač plastiki.
